According to the Western calendar, I’m a Pisces through and through: the dreamer, the intuitive, the creative soul. But I’ve always felt like there was more to my story—something deeper, something that didn’t quite fit the Pisces mold.
Born Under Two Energies
Years ago, my friend Sherwin said, “You don’t feel like a Pisces.” And, honestly, he was onto something. I decided to look beyond the Western calendar and explore the Hebrew calendar which takes the lunar cycles into account. What I found explained a lot!
I was born on the last day of Pisces, but it wasn’t just any day—it was Rosh Chodesh, the first day of a new moon. Aries energy had already arrived. And I wasn’t even supposed to be born at night, but there I was, arriving under the new moon of Aries.
So, I’m a Pisces born on an Aries new moon—a cusp of water and fire, intuition and action. It explains a lot about me.
A Collection of Rare Traits

But that’s just the beginning. Layer on some other rare traits:
– I’m left-handed, part of just 10% of the population.
– My blood type is AB (an evolutionary blood type), the rarest in the world, found in less than 4% of people.
– I’m also a non-secreter, part of just 20% of the population, meaning my body doesn’t release blood type markers into bodily fluids.
This last one gets really interesting when I think about it. I realized the significance of being a non-secreter while watching all those forensic shows. You know the scene: cops are waiting for a suspect to finish drinking a cup of coffee or a soda so they can swab it for DNA evidence. Well, guess what? They wouldn’t find my DNA. No blood type markers, no easy answers. Biologically elusive me.
My Strongest Pillar: Armenian Identity

But perhaps my luckiest trait—the real “DNA lotto,” if you want to call it that—was being born Armenian. That has always grounded me. I know who I am, where I come from, and where I have to go. I’ve never had a lost sense or lack of identity.
Being Armenian has been like a pillar for me, like the string of a marionette holding me up, steady and unshakable. It’s not just about heritage or culture—it’s about conviction. My Armenian identity has made me a person of strong convictions when it comes to my nation and my people. It has grounded me in aspirations that transcend the petty concerns of everyday life, filling my world with meaning and substance.
Taken alone, each of these traits is interesting. But together? They create something entirely unique.
So here I am: a Pisces-Aries cusp, left-handed, AB-blooded, non-secreter, and proudly Armenian—a rare blend of rare traits. My uniqueness is made up of a bunch of unique things.
I have to admit, it makes me feel very special. And I can’t help but wonder—are there others out there like this?
