Born in Montreal, she began her professional life far from the spotlight, serving in the Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 17. As one of the first women to join the trade as a Bosn, she trained in demolitions, small arms, firefighting, and chemical warfare, becoming the youngest crew member aboard the HMCS Nipigon, Canada’s first warship to employ women. Despite her military background, she has yet to portray a soldier on screen.
Fluent in English, French, Armenian, Spanish, Arabic German, and self-taught reading Hebrew and Russian, Bedian is also skilled in Middle Eastern and European dialects.
